How do I order a custom canvas print?

Choose your style on our site — either a classic masterpiece or a personalised print — select your size, upload your photo (for custom prints), and check out. Our team starts work on your order within 24 hours.

What can I personalise?

You can turn your own photos into custom canvas prints — pet portraits, family photos, wedding pictures, memorial keepsakes, baby and nursery art, couple photos, house portraits, song lyrics, poems, bible verses and more.

How long does the whole process take?

From order to delivery: we begin work within 24 hours, production typically takes 2–3 business days, and UK delivery takes 2–3 business days after dispatch. Most UK customers receive their canvas within a week of ordering.

Can I order more than one canvas?

Yes. You can add multiple canvases to one order, and each can be a different size, style or photo. Multiple orders are packed and shipped together where possible.

Do you offer discounts for multiple prints?

We regularly run site-wide offers — custom prints are frequently available at 50% off. For large orders or wholesale enquiries, contact us at sales@evoartprints.com.

Can I make changes to my order after placing it?

If you need to change your photo, size or personalisation, contact us as soon as possible. Orders can generally be adjusted within 24 hours of purchase, before production begins.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes — orders can be cancelled within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund, as long as production has not started. Contact us at info@evoartprints.com with your order number.

Do I need an account to order?

No, you can check out as a guest. Creating an account is optional and lets you track orders more easily.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, plus PayPal. All payments are processed securely.

Is my data safe when I upload photos?

Yes. Your photos are used only to produce your canvas. They are reviewed by our design team for print quality and are never shared or used for any other purpose.

What if I need help with my order?

Can I order a canvas as a gift?

Absolutely. Personalised canvases are one of our most popular gifts — for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, new homes, new babies and memorials. Order 1–2 weeks before the occasion to allow for production and delivery.

Do you offer gift wrapping or gift messages?

We can include a personalised message with your order on request. Contact us after ordering and we will do our best to accommodate gift notes.

What is included in the price?

Your canvas print, hand-stretched on a wooden frame and ready to hang, plus free UK delivery. There are no hidden charges — UK shipping is free on all orders.

Photos & Upload

What photo formats can I upload?

We accept JPEG, PNG and HEIC files. These cover photos from virtually every phone, camera and computer.

How large can my photo file be?

Files up to 30MB are accepted — comfortably large enough for any modern phone or camera photo.

What is the minimum resolution I need?

For an 8×12 inch canvas, minimum 1200×1800 pixels (2MP). For 12×16 inch, 1800×2400 pixels (4MP). For 16×20 inch, 2400×3000 pixels (7MP). For 24×36 inch, 3600×5400 pixels (19MP) is recommended.

Are iPhone photos good enough?

Yes. Modern iPhones (12 and newer) shoot at 12MP or higher — plenty for canvases up to 16×20 inch. What matters most is good lighting, not megapixels.

Can I use old or scanned photos?

Yes. Scanned photos work well if the scan is at a decent resolution. If you are unsure, upload it anyway — our design team reviews every image and will flag any concerns before printing.

What kind of lighting is best in my photo?

Natural light is best. Photos taken near a window on a cloudy-bright day produce soft, even lighting. Avoid direct sunlight, which creates blown-out highlights and deep shadows.

Should I use flash?

We recommend avoiding flash. Phone and camera flashes create harsh light and can cause red-eye or overexposed faces.

Can you fix blurry or dark photos?

Our AI enhancement pipeline improves exposure, white balance, sharpness and colour automatically, and AI upscaling adds resolution when needed. Heavily blurred photos may still be a problem — our designers will tell you before printing.

What happens if my photo is low resolution?

AI upscaling can often recover enough detail for smaller canvas sizes. For larger sizes we may recommend a higher-resolution photo. If quality would be compromised, we contact you before printing — no surprises.

Can I upload multiple photos for one canvas?

Our classic custom canvas prints are built around a single standout photo. If you would like a collage or multiple photos combined, contact us and we will see what we can do.

Can I combine several photos into one canvas (collage)?

We focus on single-photo fine-art canvases, but for special requests such as memorial collages, email us and we will try to help.

Do you review my photo before printing?

Yes — every order is reviewed by a human designer. They check composition, sharpness, cropping and whether the photo suits the canvas size. If anything needs attention, they email you before printing.

Can I see a proof before you print?

For most orders the designer's review covers quality checks. If a photo needs significant adjustment, we contact you directly rather than printing something you have not approved.

How do I upload my photo?

During checkout on our custom canvas product pages, you will find an upload box. Select your best-quality photo (highest resolution, well-lit) and attach it. Guidance on choosing photos is in our Photo Guide.

Can I upload a photo of an artwork or painting?

Yes — if you own the rights to the image. We also offer classic art reproductions from our collection, which are ready to order without uploading anything.

What if I only have a printed photo, not a digital file?

Scan it at the highest resolution your scanner allows (300 DPI or more), or photograph it in even natural light with no flash, then upload the digital file.

Will my photo be cropped?

Your photo is fitted to the canvas aspect ratio. Our designers crop carefully so faces and key details stay intact. If your photo has a lot of empty space at the edges, some may be trimmed — the mirror edge option avoids cropping entirely.

Can you remove people or objects from my photo?

Sizes & Fit

What canvas sizes do you offer?

Six sizes: 8×12 inch (20×30cm), 12×16 inch (30×40cm), 12×18 inch (30×45cm), 16×20 inch (40×50cm), 16×24 inch (40×60cm) and 24×36 inch (60×90cm).

What size should I choose for a single portrait?

A solo portrait — human or pet — works beautifully at 12×16 inch. For a desk or shelf display, 8×12 inch is ideal.

What size for a family photo?

Family photos benefit from 16×20 inch or larger so every face stays clear and recognisable. 16×24 inch is a great statement size for a family wall.

What size for a couple or wedding photo?

12×18 inch suits a couple portrait, while a wedding canvas shines at 16×20 inch or 16×24 inch above a mantel or bed.

What size for a pet portrait?

12×16 inch is our most popular pet portrait size — large enough to show detail, small enough for any room. 16×20 inch makes a proud statement piece.

What size above a sofa?

As a rule, the canvas should fill roughly 60–75% of the wall width above the furniture. For a 150cm sofa, a 24×36 inch (90cm wide) canvas feels balanced.

What size for a bedroom?

16×20 inch above the bed creates a warm focal point. For larger feature walls, 16×24 inch or 24×36 inch works well.

What size for a nursery?

8×12 inch or 12×16 inch suits a nursery wall or shelf. Smaller canvases are also easy to move as your child grows.

What size for a hallway or gallery wall?

12×18 inch or 16×20 inch fit narrow hallway walls perfectly. For a gallery wall, mix 8×12 inch and 12×16 inch pieces.

What is the biggest size you offer?

Our largest size is 24×36 inch (60×90cm) — a true statement piece for open-plan living areas, stairwells and feature walls.

Can I request a custom size?

We offer six carefully chosen sizes covering every room. For very large or non-standard requests, contact us at sales@evoartprints.com.

How do I measure my wall?

Measure the width of the wall or furniture the canvas will hang above, then aim for a canvas about 60–75% of that width. Check the height too — leave space above and below for balance.

What is the viewing distance rule?

Close-up spaces (desk, bedside) suit 8×12 to 12×16. Mid-distance viewing (across a room) suits 16×20 to 16×24. Far-distance spaces (stairwells, open-plan rooms) suit 24×36.

Can the same photo work at all sizes?

The same photo can be printed at any of our six sizes, provided the resolution supports it. Larger canvases need higher-resolution photos — see our photo resolution guidance.

How many people fit comfortably in a 16×20 canvas?

16×20 inch handles groups of up to about five people with clear, recognisable faces. For larger groups, choose 16×24 or 24×36 inch.

Materials & Finish

What is gallery wrap?

Gallery wrap is the classic stretched-canvas look: the image wraps around the sides of a wooden stretcher frame, creating a seamless, frameless presentation. It is our signature finish.

What canvas material do you use?

Premium 380gsm cotton-blend canvas — heavy enough for rich colour saturation, light enough to stretch cleanly without sagging. The subtle surface texture gives prints an authentic painterly feel.

What is a mirror edge?

A mirror edge reflects the outermost 3–4cm of your photo onto the sides of the frame. The result: your image fills the entire front with zero cropping, and the sides look intentional — ideal for group photos and tight portraits.

What is a solid colour edge?

A solid colour edge paints the frame sides in a colour that complements your image. It gives a clean, modern, framed look — great for minimalist interiors.

Can the image wrap around the sides?

Yes — you can choose to let the image itself wrap. Note this slightly crops the outer edges of your photo. If you want zero cropping, choose the mirror edge option instead.

What is the frame depth?

Our gallery wrap uses a 3.8cm (1.5 inch) deep wooden stretcher frame — substantial enough for a shadow line against the wall, slim enough to hang flush.

What inks do you use?

We use UV-resistant giclée inks, which hold rich colour and resist fading far better than standard inks. Combined with the 380gsm canvas, prints stay vibrant for years.

What does giclée printing mean?

Giclée is a high-quality inkjet printing process using pigment-based, archival-grade inks. It produces finer detail, smoother gradients and longer-lasting colour than standard printing.

Canvas vs poster — what's the difference?

A poster is thin paper that needs framing and can fade or crease. A canvas is printed on textured 380gsm cotton, stretched on a frame, ready to hang — deeper colours, no glass glare, and a premium gallery look.

Canvas vs framed print — which is better?

Framed prints suit classic, formal interiors and protect the artwork behind glass. Gallery-wrap canvases are modern, frameless and lighter on the wall. Both look beautiful — it depends on your room's style.

Do canvases come ready to hang?

Yes. Every canvas arrives hand-stretched on its frame with hanging hardware fitted — you can hang it straight out of the box.

Is the canvas waterproof or wipeable?

The canvas surface can be gently dusted with a soft dry cloth. Avoid water, cleaning chemicals and direct moisture — canvas is not designed to be wet-cleaned.

What is the best finish for a portrait?

For portraits, pet photos and wedding images, gallery wrap with a mirror edge is ideal — every face stays intact on the front and the finish looks premium.

What is the best finish for a landscape photo?

For landscapes and scenic shots, gallery wrap with the image wrapping naturally, or a solid colour edge, both look striking — choose the one that matches your interior.

Printing & Production

How is my photo turned into a canvas?

Seven steps: you upload your photo → AI enhancement adjusts exposure, sharpness and colour → a human designer reviews composition → CMYK colour conversion for print → printing with UV-resistant giclée inks → hand-stretching on a wooden frame → quality check and dispatch.

Do you use AI on my photo?

Yes — AI enhances exposure, white balance, sharpness and colour, and can upscale resolution when needed. Every AI-processed order is then reviewed by a human designer.

Do humans review my order?

Yes. A human designer reviews every single order — checking faces are sharp, crops are natural and colours will print well. This human step is what sets us apart from fully automated services.

What is CMYK conversion and why does it matter?

Screens display in RGB light; canvas prints use CMYK ink. Our RIP software converts the colour space precisely, so the printed canvas matches what you see on screen — without it, prints can look dull or colour-shifted.

How long does production take?

Production typically takes 2–3 business days after your photo is approved. Your order enters the design queue within 24 hours of purchase.

Will colours match my screen?

Our CMYK conversion and colour proofing are designed to reproduce colours accurately. Screens vary, so expect subtle differences, but your canvas will be rich and true to the original image.

What if my photo needs retouching?

If a photo is too dark, blurry or poorly cropped, the designer emails you with suggestions before printing. We never print a compromised image without telling you.

Do you crop my photo?

Your photo is fitted to the canvas aspect ratio. Our designers crop carefully to keep faces and important details. Choose a mirror edge if you want zero cropping at all.

Can you remove objects or people from my photo?

Our standard custom canvases preserve the original photo. For AI-assisted creative edits, see our Royal Pet Portrait and Family Fantasy Portrait services.

Where are the canvases made?

Custom canvases are printed and hand-finished in our UK studio. We also operate a US fulfilment centre in College Point, New York, for faster US delivery.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes — shipping is free on all orders within the UK.

How long does UK delivery take?

Delivery takes 2–3 business days after dispatch. Including production (2–3 business days), most UK customers receive their canvas within about a week of ordering.

Do you ship internationally?

We primarily serve the UK and US markets, with fulfilment centres in both countries. For other destinations, contact us at sales@evoartprints.com to check availability.

How is my canvas packaged?

Each canvas is carefully wrapped and protected for transit — substantial packaging that keeps the frame and print safe. Customers regularly comment on how well-packed our orders arrive.

Will my canvas arrive damaged?

We take great care with packaging, but if your canvas ever arrives damaged, contact us within 90 days and we will send a free replacement or full refund — including return shipping costs if applicable.

Can I track my order?

Yes — you will receive tracking details once your order is dispatched.

Do you ship to PO boxes?

For tracked delivery we recommend a street address. If you need a PO box delivery, contact us and we will check options for your order.

When will my order be dispatched?

Most orders are dispatched within 2–3 business days of production completing. You will receive tracking by email when your canvas leaves our studio.

Do you ship to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland?

Yes — free UK shipping covers the whole of the UK, including Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Can I choose express delivery?

Standard UK delivery is 2–3 business days. For urgent gifts, email us at info@evoartprints.com and we will do our best to prioritise your order.

What if my canvas arrives damaged?

Contact us at info@evoartprints.com with a photo of the damage within 90 days. We will arrange a free replacement or full refund — that is our 90-day satisfaction guarantee.

Are there customs fees for international orders?

Orders fulfilled from our UK or US centres are shipped domestically within those countries, so no customs fees apply for UK and US customers.

Returns, Refunds & Guarantee

What is your satisfaction guarantee?

Every order is covered by a 90-day satisfaction guarantee. If you notice poor print quality, damaged frames or any defect within 90 days of receiving your order, we offer a full refund or free replacement — no questions asked.

Can I return a custom canvas?

Because personalised products are made to order, returns are generally not accepted unless the item is defective or we made an error. If you are unhappy for any reason, contact us — we will find a solution.

What if my canvas is defective?

If your canvas arrives with printing issues, a damaged frame or any manufacturing defect, contact us within 90 days. You will receive a free replacement or a full refund, including return shipping costs if applicable.

How do I request a refund?

Email info@evoartprints.com with your order number and a short explanation. Include clear photos of any defect. Once approved, we will provide return instructions and process your refund.

How long do refunds take?

Refunds are typically processed within 3–5 business days after we receive and verify the returned item. Your bank or payment provider may take a little longer to show it.

Can I exchange my canvas?

Yes — if there is an issue with your order, we will happily arrange a replacement rather than a refund. Just tell us what went wrong and we will sort it out.

Do I pay return shipping?

If the return is due to a defect or our error, we cover the return shipping costs. For other returns (where eligible), return shipping is the customer's responsibility.

What if I changed my mind?

Even if you have simply changed your mind, reach out to us — we will do our best to offer a suitable solution. Our 90-day guarantee covers defects; for change-of-mind cases we will help where we can.

What if my personalisation is wrong?

We double-check every custom order before printing. If we made an error with your photo, name or details, contact us immediately and we will reprint free of charge.

What information do I need for a return?

Your order number, a brief explanation of the issue, and — for defects — clear photos of the problem. That lets us process your request in one quick step.

Are custom orders refundable?

Custom orders are refundable if defective or if we made an error. We encourage customers to double-check personalisation details before ordering — our team also reviews every order before printing.

Care & Maintenance

How do I clean my canvas?

Gently dust with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Do not use water, sprays or cleaning chemicals on the canvas surface.

Can I hang my canvas in direct sunlight?

We print with UV-resistant inks, but like all fine art, canvases last longest away from harsh, direct sunlight. A spot with indirect light will keep colours vibrant for decades.

Can I hang my canvas in a bathroom or humid room?

We recommend avoiding very humid rooms. Canvas and wooden frames are best in dry, temperature-stable environments — kitchens, bathrooms and conservatories can cause warping over time.

How do I hang my canvas?

Each canvas arrives with hanging hardware fitted. Use a spirit level for straight positioning — or simply mark the wall through the frame's hanging points for accuracy.

Will my canvas fade over time?

Our UV-resistant giclée inks are archival quality, so fading is minimal under normal indoor conditions. Avoiding direct sunlight keeps colours looking brand new.

How do I store a canvas I am not hanging?

Store it upright in a cool, dry place, protected from dust and moisture. Never lay heavy items on top of the canvas surface.

Can I move my canvas to a new home?

Yes. Handle it by the frame edges, wrap it in protective material for transport, and re-hang with the same hardware. Canvas is lightweight and easy to relocate.

Do you recommend any special care products?

No special products needed — a soft dry cloth for dusting is all your canvas will ever require.
